- Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2012This is an excellent book. It is well thought out, and hits home its points well.
It definitely will not win you a debate, but it raises valid points that need to be discussed. This is perfect for a small group to go over, as it has some very beneficial knowledge that all students/adults will need to defend their faith.
Once again, this isn't something incredibly in depth, but it is a great read!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2013This book is a must for the library of any serious apologist. Alex has a very easy, understandable writing style. I found the information was extremely helpful for me in articulating thoughtful and respectful answers to some of life's toughest questions. I now look forward to situations where the Lord orchestrates "chance" encounters where I am called upon to defend the gospel.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2019The book was good but really left me wanting more in some of the chapters. I didn't feel like each objection was adequately answered. However, overall the book is a great introduction to apologetics.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2017Dr. McFarland shares his life experiences with objections to Christ. Interestingly, the objections are very common. So are the responses in defense of the faith- biblically based, on firm foundation. This is an easy read- even for objectors!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2016When considering the mission field (i.e. online ministry), it’s important to get into the head and heart of the unbeliever.
The Ten Most Common Objections to Christianity by Alex McFarland briefly goes over the ten most common objections, like Jesus’ resurrection. What struck me was how many theories existed to disprove Jesus’ empty tomb. In order not to believe, people really stretched their imaginations.
Once again, I am convinced the reason to not believe is buried beneath pride or the scar tissue of the battered heart. A great book to read whether you are a believer or not.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2019Great book for those interested in apologetics. This book is by no means comprehensive but there’s enough in it to get a good grasp on defending your faith. We used it in a small group study and it generated a lot of dialogue between our group.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 31, 2019This book clearly and efficiently addresses the common questions that both the believer and the skeptic can benefit from. A simple if profound book.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2016Excellent book. It puts a lot of things from a lot of places into one book. And it offers very good answers to common questions. And the book is very readable and understandable.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent reposte to those seeking to undermine the Christian faith today
This a brilliant book. Not only does it look carefully and with thorough scholarship at the issues raised but it also gives practical answers to the objections raised. At the end of the book there is an excellent apologetics course for young people in which questions raised are considered in depth. This an excellent tool to equip Christian young people today in a world where there is so much opposition to the Christian faith. The author has made available the fruits of years of study and we can now enter into that wonderful resource. This book needs to be read by all Christian teachers and pastors so that the deliberate attempt to under mine faith in the 21st century can be addressed. I commend it highly

1.0 out of 5 stars STILL fighting about religion?...... Sigh.
We are living in the 21"st Century people. Do we REALLY need to nag nag nag on the CRISTAL CLEAR magical thinking that drives religious people?
Isn't it CLEAR enough that our species is hard wired to imagine gods and "God"?
I'm not not knocking the usefulness, even blessing, of magical thinking. Human beings feel much happier having an entity believed to be invested with high powers.
What is The Queen? She REALLY is only a person behind all the jewellery, golden coaches and the perennial pomp and circumstance over which she majestically presides. Still, Her Maj pulls her pantyhose on the same way it's done everywhere. THE BIG DIFFERENCE is that we all see and hear her sometimes luckily enough to be in person, otherwise she is a living REAL person. That kind of magical thinking is absolutely healthy.
Has anyone seen Jesus or God - either in the media, or in personal real life, and is there corroborating proof? Of course not!
I bought this book there might be some revelatory proof for the existence of God or Jesus. But no. Just more delusional rhetorical tricks that might recruit a few weak minded believers.
This book of What To Say to nonbelievers is just more dopey Dope.
