That's a Great Question: What to Say When Your Faith Is Questioned Kindle Edition
Is the Bible really true? How can I prove it? This book is especially helpful for newer Christians just coming to grips with the implications of the gospel in all areas of their lives.
What do you say when someone at work asks you why the gospel stories differ? How do you answer your neighbor when she asks what you think about all those "errors" in the Bible? Glenn Pearson offers simple, accessible principles that provide any Christian with the tools he or she needs to confidently respond to skeptical inquiries.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2013Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThe author presents a reasonable method for handling questions and challenges. There are two main section - identifying filters people have as they approach the Bible, and principles we should use to interpret particular difficulties we encounter. Taken together, these help the believer receive and respond to various objections that people have. The tone is helpful, and the author gives many examples to illustrate the ideas he discusses. There are links to additional resources available online.
I don't expect that a skeptic reading this book will find complete answers to all of his or her questions, but that is not the intent of the book, and there is hope that someone reading with some openness would be able to better understand the Bible and get past some challenging questions. And a Christian can use the material and methods in the book to help handle objections he or she encounters, to get beyond this type of barrier to the gospel.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 20, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis book had great potential, when he actually gets into the apologetic part of the book it's great material.there are principles in this book, that if studied and applied would definitely help equip one to defend their faith. I especially like the portion of this book that harmonize the gospels and feel that any Christian can benefit from that study, Pearson does a great job reconciling so called contradictions in the new testament. The only negatives is this book is slow getting started, and very much overillistrates, a lot more apologetic material could have been implemented in this book if not for the many illustrations.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2014Format: KindleVerified PurchaseGlenn Pearson begins with giving some background on his conversion from biblical sceptic to believer. He spends some time discussing viewpoints that add to or take away from the biblical text. Finally, he discusses a common sense approach to reading and interpreting the bible, particularly dealing with paradoxes and apparent contradictions. He ends with a wonderful analogous example that supports his approach. I found it a refreshing book to read on a tough subject.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2021Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI thought that the material was well organized and easy to follow. The main problem I had with the book is that each section told you to access more information at a David C Cook Ministries link which is no longer functional. I feel I missed a substantial amount of information because I couldn't access that information.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAs a missiologist, I don't dive deep into hard core apologetics. Much of it is bound up in philosophic jargon and bends my practioner's brain out of whack. This is a fun read that cuts to the chase, gives doable and practical tips for understanding what the Bible is saying! Some great illustrations and the author's use of humor made this a surprisingly fun read!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseInteresting how each of the sisters reacted to their father's treatment of them. Sad, sad story.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is the kind of book that is usually dry reading. This particular book was not like that at all! I was able to finish it in just a few days and found it absolutely enjoyable to read! The author was able to use the perfect combination of personal anecdotes and scripture to drive his point home and keep your attention. I feel so enlightened and ready to take on any scriptural argument.

5.0 out of 5 stars helpful
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis book is a good guide to thoughtful processing of the Bible. How some of the objections to the ancient texts can be approached objectively & that there are answers when done so.

4.0 out of 5 stars Thought provoking
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAs the author seeks to show that those who find fault with the Scriptures are on very shaky ground he applies various tests or "filters" to their beliefs.
I did not find this book thrilling but it did show forth a lot of matters that I had not considered when dealing with sceptics of Gods Word.
